The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

The rule of law is indispensable to a thriving and vibrant society. It shields citizens from government overreach. It allows businesses to invest with confidence. It gives innovators protection for their discoveries. It keeps people safe from dangerous criminals. And it allows us to resolve differences peacefully through reason and logic. 7789026700

Quote II

“This president is trying to keep a campaign promise to all of those people that he swore he would build a wall! And those people who want the wall are not patriots.”

“They are not people who love this country. They are not people who stand up for what’s right!” 251-439-4933

Quote III

“I don’t come here for this rag every day, and it’s a rag. That’s all it is to me,” said Chambers about respecting the flag. “When you show a way to persuade Jews to sanctify and worship the swastika, when you show me that I’ll come up here and stand while you all hypocritically pretend that rag is something that it definitely is not.“ Nebraska state Sen. Ernie Chambers

Quote IV

The fly-over states have become the passed-over states, that’s why red state voters are so pissed off. They don’t hate us, they want to be us. They want to go to the party. It’s like we’re the British royal family and they’re Megan Markle’s dad. Bill Maher

The Law Of Unintended Consequences...How Does That Work?

—CBD

Who'd a think it! Raise the minimum wage, and employers are more aggressive in ensuring that they are getting their money's worth out of their expensive employees!

If I am paying some knuckle-dragging, booger-eating retard $10/hour to do something simple, and he's okay at it, but certainly not good enough, then I might keep him on until he does get better to avoid the costs of hiring and training a new employee. But increase that hourly wage by 50% and his leash is going to get a lot shorter.

This ain't rocket surgery.

After Winning a $15 Minimum Wage, Fast Food Workers Now Battle Unfair Firings

City Councilman Brad Lander said he planned to introduce a bill on Wednesday that would require fast-food businesses to show "just cause" for firing workers and give them a chance to appeal dismissals through arbitration.

Mr. Lander, a Democrat from Brooklyn, said he was responding to surveys of fast-food workers indicating that "there's a substantial percentage of employees that have been fired unfairly." One woman said she was fired from a Chipotle restaurant for not smiling enough.

I love the subtextual outrage that somebody was fired for "not smiling enough." In other words, she wasn't doing the job, part of which was to interact with customers with a smile on her face. That doesn't sound too tough.

In case you aren't exercised enough by this violence against free markets, there's a doozy below the fold...this time it's violence against traditional culture, which is increasingly obviously the only culture that has any success.

A Chicken In Every Pot, And A Reactor On Every Block: That's My Idea Of A "Green New Deal!"

—CBD

I have a little sympathy for people who are reflexively afraid of nuclear power because they simply don't understand it. I guess at first glance it is sort of scary, because...um...actually I have no idea why. We are surrounded by "nuclear" power in our everyday lives; from the sun, the isotopes that we use to diagnose and cure disease, the plants that power our navy ships, and the commercial power plants that have a rather remarkable safety record (show me the injuries and deaths from Three Mile Island and I will delete that statement). Hell, there are smoke detectors in use all over the world that use Americium-241.

905-423-9637

Ordinary people tell pollsters they want renewables for the same reason they buy products labeled “natural”: they are in the grip of an unconscious appeal-to-nature fallacy.

The appeal-to-nature fallacy is the mistaken belief that the world can be divided into “natural” and “unnatural” things, and that the former are better, safer, or cleaner than the latter.

In reality, solar farms require hundreds of times more land, an order of magnitude more mining for materials, and create hundreds of times more waste, than do nuclear plants.

And wind farms kill hundreds of thousands of threatened and endangered birds, may make the hoary bat go extinct, and kill more people than nuclear plants.

But because of our positive feelings toward sunlight, water and wind, which we view as more natural than uranium, many people unconsciously assume renewables are better for the environment.

I think we should have a "Green New Deal." It should start with the construction of 100 of a standardized nuclear reactor series with specific pre-approval from the federal government and a state of emergency declared that will preempt any state challenges to their construction. The state of emergency would require that for each reactor going on line the most CO2-intensive power plant in the country would be shut down, or the least efficient generation facility in terms of kilowatts/square foot could be dismantled and the land returned to its previous use. In addition, regulations limiting the locations of these reactors could be written to avoid construction on active fault lines, such as the Hayward Fault and the San Andreas Fault.

Any state that chose to prevent construction of these new plants because of fear of earthquake damage will not be able to purchase power generated by any of the new plants.

Let's face it, if we had nuclear power plants spread across the United States, with the expectation that they were there for the long haul, the issue of the small amount of radioactive waste would be less compelling. Store it on site, because that site will be a plant for the foreseeable future. And lest the no-nothings are confuse by the volume of waste produced by even the messiest plants, it is nothing in comparison to the huge waste of space that solar and wind generation creates.

I wonder whether Alexandria Donkey-Chompers will be interested in my plan, since she challenged us to come up with alternatives!

Good morning to all you 'rons, 'ettes, lurkers, and lurkettes, wine moms, frat bros, and everybody who's holding your beer. An Occasional Fishing Thread [Bandersnatch]

—CBD

Hello happy Piscators and Piscatrettes, this is the Next Occasional Fishing thread. All things fishy are on topic. I, your humble narrator, am merely suggesting some jumping off points.

Photo 1 two rods.jpg

Is there anything as full of promise as the start of a fishing trip? Maybe the weather’s not what you planned on or you got up too late for the tide you wanted, but you’re going fishing. Anything can happen. At the end of the day there will be brag stories, or excuses, or lies. Fishermen are proficient at all three.

I use “fishermen” in the all-encompassing fisherfolk sense. When searching for a good fly fishing video, below, I found that Orvis has a commitment to gender parity in fly fishing, which includes a harangue against men. Goodness gracious, I did not think it would visit itself upon fishing, but here we are. (Naturally, that’s not the video I chose. I’d sooner give you Yoko on an Ottoman).

25th May 1972, Neil Diamond, born 1941, American singer and songwriter playing chess in Kensington Gardens, before a European tour. Lady is Joy Anderson, 25, of Kensington,a member of his fan club. The chess set was presented to Diamond by his British fan club.

From what I can see, the pieces appear to be a metallic version of the Peter Ganine Gothic design. I don't think the Ganine sets and boards are still being manufactured, but they're quite common on ebay. Also, it's the only set I would ever consider owning other than the standard Staunton pieces. I don't know, something about them, they just look sort of badass.

As always, the chess/dress pr0n thread is an open thread, so there is no such thing as an off-topic comment.

bullett train.jpg

Where do we go from here?

Last week, we discussed here how Gavin Newsom planned to destroy the planet by shortening the California high-speed rail project from the big dream of a three-hour trip from LA to San Francisco to a sort of fast trip between Bakersfield and Merced. If we are not all dead in 12 years, how will we get around in the future?

The Sacramento Bee has a few corrections to the information we had last week. And the Babylon Bee reminds us that our Washington legislators remain undeterred in their(614) 463-5698

A new environmental proposal would have the US replace all public and private spacecraft with high-speed trains by the year 2030, reports confirmed Thursday.

"We are wasting so much rocket fuel to generate the thrust necessary to leave Earth's orbit when we could just build a train track all the way to Mars or Jupiter," said a lobbyist for the train industry. "And just think about how pleasant a ride from Earth to Mars would be, coasting along the space tracks at 200 miles per hour for the next 193 years." . . .

California is ahead of the curve and has already begun work on its own high-speed space rail, but it was immediately delayed for 770 years and will now cost 52x the original estimate.

Meanwhile, back on earth, a piece in the Sacramento Bee assures us that Gavin Newsom did not kill high-speed rail. Instead, Newsom's plan is an improvement on the original plan for the Central Valley segment of high-speed rail:

Administration officials point out Newsom's plan expands the high-speed rail line by about 50 miles in the Valley. Under his revised concept, trains will run into downtown Bakersfield, rather than stopping outside the city. And Newsom plans to extend the line farther north to Merced, instead of the previous Valley terminus at Madera.

Think about that: The original plan was to have a bullet train STOP OUTSIDE THE CITY.

I saw a few more surprises in the revised map from the HSR authority:

EMT nerd talk.

Hoping some of the horde will have some good tips for me here.

I'm looking to run a linux virtual machine to use for secure comms between the home office and business. Email, messaging, video streaming and large file transfer are the main needs.

The one distro I was really interested in was SubgraphOS, but it doesn't run in a virtual environment.

Whonix looks to be a good option, but it runs on Virtual Box vm enviro, and I'm currently working with a VMware ESXi setup that I can't get away from for the time being. I could probably nest VB into a Windows or Linux VM off of VMware if I had to, but it's added complexity that I'd just as soon avoid for now.

Security & privacy are key. I expect to be using NordVPN as well.

I can pay for good advice with a free Nigerian beatdown.

Trump's Title X Rule Change Could Effectively Defund Planned Parenthood

—Ace of Spades

The "True Conservatives" ran on this issue and did nothing about it, because they're liars who only care about doing favors for their actual constituents, large corporate interests with deep-pocketed donors.

Trump, the former Democrat with liberal instincts, hurkle probably because he is too unschooled in Conservatism, Inc. politics to know that his job is to Trick the Rubes, not attempt to accomplish their political agenda.

The major changes include a new requirement that all participating Title X providers "maintain physical and financial separation from locations which provide abortion as a method of family planning." This means that any clinic or doctor's office that also offers abortions is no longer allowed to receive federal grants that would help provide free or low-cost birth control for low-income women.

...

Reproductive rights advocates say this is a direct attack on Planned Parenthood, which via the organization's nationwide network of family planning clinics, is currently the largest provider of Title X-funded birth control services. Roughly 41% of patients receiving birth control funded by Title X get those prescriptions at a Planned Parenthood clinic.

LGBT Magazine declares Trump is "racist" to demand that Iran stop murdering gay people.

There had been a joke that the minute Trump spoke out against anti-gay violence, the gay left would declare anti-gay violence a vibrant thread in the wondrous fabric of American values.

It's not a joke any longer.

334-984-2552 surely signaling that he thinks the Mueller report will be of little help to him.

Kim Strassel writes of Little Schitt's "new phase" in the Russia Collusion investigation, in which they admit there was no Russian collusion but come up with Exciting New Conspiracies to investigate:

The collusionists need a "new phase" as signs grow that the special counsel won’t help realize their reveries of a Donald Trump takedown. They had said Mr. Mueller would provide all the answers. Now that it seems they won't like his answers, Democrats and media insist that any report will likely prove "anticlimactic" and "inconclusive." "This is merely the end of Chapter 1," said Renatto Mariotti, a CNN legal "analyst."

Mr. Schiff turned this week to a dependable scribe--the Washington Post's David Ignatius--to lay out the next chapter of the penny dreadful. Mr. Ignatius was the original conduit for the leak about former national security adviser Mike Flynn’s conversations with a Russian ambassador, and the far-fetched claims that Mr. Flynn had violated the Logan Act of 1799. Mr. Schiff has now dictated to Mr. Ignatius a whole new collusion theory. Forget Carter Page, Paul Manafort, George Papadopoulos--whoever. The real Trump-Russia canoodling rests in "Trump's finances." The future president was "doing business with Russia" and "seeking Kremlin help."

So, no apologies. No acknowledgment that Mr. Schiff & Co. for years have pushed fake stories that accused innocent men and women of being Russian agents. No relieved hope that the country might finally put this behind us. Just a smooth transition--using Russia as a hook--into Mr. Trump’s finances. Mueller who?

Rapper/Molester R. Kelly Charged With Ten Counts of Sexual Battery Against an Underaged Girl;
Patriots Owner Robert Kraft Charged With Asking for a Rub-and-Tug in a Florida Massage Parlor

—Ace of Spades

For some reason, Creepy Porn Lawyer Michael Avenatti had the videotape that is being used to charge Kelly.

R. Kelly was charged Friday with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse on Friday morning in Cook County, Illinois.

A Cook County judge then approved an arrest warrant for charges on Friday afternoon, the Chicago Sun-Times first reported.

The R&B superstar has faced nearly two decades of accusations of sexual abuse. And last Thursday, Cook County prosecutors reportedly received a 45-minute videotape that is said to show Kelly performing multiple sex acts with an underage girl, whom both Kelly and the girl describe on tape as being 14 years old.

Celebrity lawyer Michael Avenatti said he turned over the tape to the Cook County State's Attorney Office. "My client knows the identity of the girl and R. Kelly. He identified the two of them on the videotape," Avenatti told CNN last week.

Two other women have come forward charging that Kelly had sex with them (610) 922-1092 One woman is alleging that Kelly raped her, taking advantage of her when she was drunk and unable to give consent.

Robert Kraft, meanwhile, has been charged with two counts of solicitation of prostitution, I guess for seeking a Happy Ending at an Asian massage parlor in Jupiter, Florida.

Why would he be arrested for such a thing? Well, apparently the cops have had a major surveillance and investigation into massage parlors, suspecting some of them of human trafficking, enslaving illegal aliens (I guess) into the sex trade.

I assume Kraft wouldn't know about that part of it.

It should also be noted that none of the women involved were underage.

The charges against Mr. Kraft, 77, were part of a broad investigation into prostitution and human trafficking in day spas and massage parlors in Florida. The police said that the parlors were used for prostitution, and that many of the women involved were considered to be victims.

The investigation involved multiple law enforcement agencies, and resulted in raids and arrests connected to nearly a dozen businesses in the region. At least one person, Lanyun Ma, 49, was charged with human trafficking. More than two dozen men, ranging in age from 34 to 81, have been arrested.

The charges would be pretty minor -- a maximum of sixty days in jail for each.

Apparently they plan to charge 200 people with soliciting prostitution, though only a few have been charged so far.

There is already chatter (courtesy of the NYTimes) that the NFL "could" discipline Kraft for this. Roger Goodell does seem to have a hardon for the Pats. Liberals, generally, do -- the team is not Sufficiently Anti-Trump enough for them.

The charges could lead the N.F.L. to discipline Mr. Kraft, even if he is not convicted. The league's commissioner, Roger Goodell, has broad authority to hold players and owners accountable for conduct he deems detrimental to the league.

#Woke former sportscaster Jemele Hill apparently thinks that Kraft should be charged as if he's a part of the sex-trafficking operation:

Justice4Jussie: Smollett Being Written Out of Season's Final Two Episodes; Rest of Cast Allegedly Furious That Smollett Lied to Them and Embarrassed Them, Per TMZ

—Ace of Spades

He wanted to be more famous. He succeeded.

Fox just announced it's scratching Smollett from the end of the current season. The statement says, "The events of the past few weeks have been incredibly emotional for all of us. Jussie has been an important member of our EMPIRE family for the past five years and we care about him deeply. While these allegations are very disturbing, we are placing our trust in the legal system as the process plays out."

The statement continues, "We are also aware of the effects of this process on the cast and crew members who work on our show and to avoid further disruption on set, we have decided to remove the role of 'Jamal' from the final two episodes of the season."

...

Jussie Smollett betrayed the trust of his "Empire" coworkers and damaged the show's image, and now several cast members want him written off immediately ... according to our sources.

We're told many of the "Empire" actors are "f**king furious" and feel if FOX honchos don't fire Jussie, he should quit on his own ... because he doesn't deserve a spot on the hit show.

Apparently Jussie emotionally confessed to his colleagues that he was totally, totally innocent of everything.

Tucker Carlson took the opportunity to have some fun at the expense of Jussie Smollett's superfan/stalker, Don LeMon.

"Yes, he's a highly-paid news anchor with his own TV show; yet like Jussie Smollett, Don LeMon is a holy victim. So there's a mad scramble over who is the victim here. Who is the victim? Well, there is one. What Smollett did was not a victimless crime. There's no such thing as that. An entire group of people did get slandered by this hoax. People with the wrong political beliefs and the wrong skin color. Smollett and his many defenders savagely attacked these people and are not apologizing for doing it. Instead they are telling you, you hear this everywhere, that the real losers here are the authentic victims of hate crimes who won’t be believed the next time.

"What about the innocent Americans they just poured venom on for two weeks because it matched some bigoted stereotypes they had about middle America? What about them? There's no mention of them," Carlson added. "Don LeMon would very much like to keep up those attacks on those people. Attacking them allows him to feel oppressed. That is why when Smollett was finally caught, Lemon reacted in a very puzzling way. He didn’t seem especially concerned that his buddy had lied to further divide the country to hurt America--which he did--no, that wasn't the real problem. The real problem, according to Don Lemon, is that Smollett’s arrest might discredit the cult of victimhood."

Leftwing Washington State Man: Sheriffs Who Do Not Enforce a Gun Control Law "Will Be Shot, By Me"

—Ace of Spades

The NeverTrump cucks don't want to talk about this guy, one of their fellow travelers.

Around dinner time on Feb. 1, Jaydin Ledford's ultra-left leaning commentaries took a twisted turn. He went on the offensive and quickly landed himself on law enforcement's radar, and ultimately behind bars.

"I love how all my nightmares come true," a self-indulgent Ledford, 23, posted early in the day.

On that day and stretching until Feb. 4, the self-proclaimed Marxist (who also claims to "speak for the trees") teed up a series of deleterious threats aimed squarely at Washington State sheriffs.

Deleterious? You might want to look up the definitions of words you plan on using, Newsweek.

Ah, what can you do. Newsweek. Garbage-tier.

The social media salvo came as Ledford's retribution for many of them waging a public declaration against the merits of a gun control bill called Initiative 1639. (The new law which passed in November, seeks to put more protections on gun ownership when it goes into effect in July.)

"I-1639 is law," read one of screeds composed by Ledford, whose Facebook profile photo features a headshot snap of a burly Karl Marx wearing a pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarers.

"sheriffs that are non compliant will be shot. by me."

Another post reads: "I really want to kill a police officer."

talking ape.jpg
"So, it is now being claimed that Jussie's hiring of extra help to shoot himself in the foot was due to a salary dispute. Oh. How much was he making? According to this article, he was pulling in somewhere around $125,000, or maybe a bit below. That's right, 125 large. Oh, and that's *per episode*. And most shows nowadays have, what, 10, 13 episodes per season? You do the math. Heck, *I'll* do the math: Smollett's salary could be as high as $1.625 million per season. And he's complaining? Seriously? Tell you what, Jussie, you don't like your salary, just send it to me, I'd be happy to take it off of your hands. Then you wouldn't have to complain no more, you could stop faking hate crimes, and I could retire with a whole troop of females to keep me suitably entertained. It's win-win."

The Morning Report - 2/22/19

—J.J. Sefton

chober.jpg

Good morning kids. Friday and the weekend is here and (say it with me) "what a week it's been." Lloyd Billingsley at FrontPage Mag wins the internetz with the headline "FAKE NOOSE." In the wake of the Jussie "Galore" Smollett hoax - which from very early on we all strongly suspected was bullshit - the Democrat-Left-Media complex is taking the opportunity not to apologize but to equivocate, obfuscate and cast the blame on "the system" and the climate of hate brought about by the election of Donald Trump - all of this also as predicted would happen. Before going further, I want to actually apologize to the Chicago PD for accusing them of dragging their heels on this for political reasons, though I still think they were doing everything they could to avoid turning Chicago into Ferguson. Not that it would help because even when confronted with facts and reality, the Left makes the good bad, white black and turns the world upside down to preserve its fundamentalist belief system. Kudos to the police chief Eddie Johnson for laying the blame squarely on those who continued to pour rhetorical gasoline on the match Smollett lit. And mercifully they succeeding in snuffing out the flame, although to underscore what I have just stated, the beat goes on vis a vis perpetuating the blood-libeling of America as founded. Two links of note, Milwaukee Sheriff Dave Clarke isn't buying the excuse that Smollett did this to boost his career but in fact did it as an act of political terrorism (my words) and Andrea Peyser in the NY Post with the sad but probably accurate prediction that Smollett skates.

And look a little further down and you will see that Coonman Northam, Poonman Fairfax and the other lawn-jockey wannabe Herring in Virginia are all going to survive scandals and even alleged crimes that in normal (read: Republican and Conservative) circumstances would mean certain political death. Plus, the calm, cool, collected Eichmann-with-a-southern-drawl promotion of infanticide which was covered up by the Media, and is vile beyond belief.

What do you want, egg in your beer? We are living in a country where the former political leadership with the eager cooperation of the highest levels of law enforcement and the intelligence communities used their power to attempt to sabotage the presidential campaign of Donald Trump and then failing that, by concocting evidence to be used as a pretext to game the judicial/court system into conducting a witch hunt that would both overthrow his presidency and simultaneously cover up all of the aforementioned high crimes and treason in service of that aim. And still they walk scot free. And still they persist. Happy fucking Friday.

Among today's notable links...

Immigration/Amnesty: Iowa has the right idea. Walls are for sure great and necessary but if you punish those aiding and abetting the invaders as well as cut off all the welfare and bennies, watch how fast they self-deport and don't come in the first place.

Democrat-Left Official Anti-Semitism: Not a fan in general of David Marcus but he nails it with the epidemic of anti-Jewish non-hoax hate crime in, ironically, the world's biggest Jewish population center.

Democrat Scandals: Despite Comey the Homey, top FBI officials wanted to charge Hillary and Daniel Greenfield on the execrable Mel Watt.

Politics: As Fauxca-Has-Been fades she gets louder, shriller and crazier, Bernie Sanders wanted to puke when JFK confronted (or attempted to confront) Castro, Donkey Chompers whines like a bug-eyed little titty-baby, Agarn O'Rourke allegedly is being courted by Slow-Hand Bidet to be his running mate, Nazi collaborator Soros is already investing in rigging swing state elections for 2020 and Palsi Pelosi doesn't understand the Constitution and separation of powers. Not that she wants to or that anyone obeys that document anyway.

Mueller Witch Hunt and Coup: Conrad Black is dead on that this whole thing is as big a crisis as the Civil War.

First Amendment and Fake News Fakery: Justice Thomas freaks the media out by wanting to revisit a decision that protected them from accountability and F. Lee Levin concurs, the NY Times runs cover for religion of peace propaganda California to persecute Christians, hell freezes over as the leftist rag NY Daily News endorses the GOP candidate for NYC public advocate in the wake of the Amazon debacle (and see the link in the politics section where the entire Democrat field goes after DeBolshevik), and the Other McCain rips into the SPLC.

Foreign Desk: Maduro is a murdering tyrant that has got to go, NorKs kidnap daughter of their man in Rome, Turk Turdogon cozies up to Putin after we embargo sending him fighter jets, and soy-boy Trudeau in hot water over doings in Libya. Meanwhile the Farsis claim to have sabotaged our drone operations in Iraq and comparing Snowden to Witt, the USAF intel dame who betrayed us and went Farsi.

We-All-Slam-For-I-Slam: CAIR naturally demands we take back the traitorous slag who joined ISIS and played Lord Haw Haw for them in Syria. And the 50th anniversary of a notorious terror bombing involving one of "Bro-Fo's" and T-Labia's heroes. Piss be upon them.

Domestic News: Blue States - come for the high taxes and stay for the shitty services, the US hits 12 million barrels a day oil production way ahead of predictions, Nike tanks thanks to sole-lessness, and Donkey Chompers hates billionaires but loves their money.

Crime Blotter: Judge goes after prosecutors who gave Clinton friend and pedophile Jeffrey Epstein an horrendous plea deal, and a look at the abuse of civil asset forfeiture.

Education: The same Santa Barbara parents who vote Democrat 100% are going after the schools over Commie indoctrination. *cue the giant virtual noogies* Hello!? McFly!?

Feminazism, Transgender Psychosis and Perversion Politics: Gay marriage? Check. Transgender madness? Check. Normalization of Pedophilia?... [ _ ] German whorehouses are not what they're, er, cracked up to be and the feminazis have sown the wind and are reaping the whirlwind.

Lastly: 39 years ago... "Do you believe in miracles?! YES!!"

Meredith Watson, Second Accuser of Justin Fairfax: "I'm Willing to Testify Publicly"

—Ace of Spades

978-874-0698

She writes in the Washington Post (archive.is link in link above):

Fairfax denied that he raped me, and he denied Tyson's account as well. And for many in the public, the media and the Virginia General Assembly, that was that. In one week, they moved on.

I told my story, and in a single week my life was probed, exposed, examined and picked over. This is what women who come forward know to expect, and to fear. Few rape victims do come forward. The rapists shake free what soon becomes just a slight taint, and they move on.

Women of color who report rape know to expect a dismissive response characterized by even greater disbelief and more abuse, if not complete and utter indifference.
I am frustrated by calls for an investigation rather than a public hearing into these matters. Such “investigations” are secret proceedings, out of the public eye, leaving victims vulnerable to selective leaks and smears. And we all know how such investigations end: with "inconclusive results."

My privacy has already been violated, yet I am still willing to testify publicly under oath. Tyson has made the same offer. Our plea to the Virginia General Assembly to require the same of Fairfax has been met with inaction.

Despite every attempt to shame me, I am not ashamed. It is Justin Fairfax who should be ashamed. It is the Virginia legislature that should be ashamed. And it is the media that should be ashamed.

Yes -- why is the media moving on? Do they just flatly refuse to report alleged crimes where the perpetrator is not white and wearing a red hat? Do only white people crimes matter?

A Conservative Gets Sucker-Punched in the Face at Berkeley; University Fails to Condemn
Update: They Finally Condemned

—Ace of Spades

Let me just check: We're all supposed to be condemning those on our side who commit violence (if they ever do), right?

While the left continues to not condemn violence from the left, and even make excuses for it, right?

Because that's how we Show We're Better or something, right?

So far, the media isn't even covering it.

Which means they're covering it up.

As usual.

So to sum this up: Fake attack gets national attention which begets real attack which gets...? Will the national media work itself into a frenzy over this too or will this be treated as local news? It would be interesting to hear CNN's Don Lemon trying to find some way to defend this. Will CNN even run the clip? Start holding your breath now!

In pages of 7-8 of the criminal complaint, it notes that the analyst, John Fry, leaked to the man who wrote this article, who they call "Reporter 1," but the article is bylined by Ronan Farrow.

For some reason, CNN isn't reporting John Fry's name:

Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris Back Reparations for Blacks

—Ace of Spades

(201) 686-5263

Meanwhile, the NeverTrumpers scheme about how to put a Democrat in the White House. To teach us a lesson.

(That lesson is, "Never trust us nor ally yourselves with us ever again." A lesson we've already fully internalized, Ladies.)

From the very first day of the 2020 presidential race, when Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts blamed "generations of discrimination" for black families earning far less than white households, Democratic hopefuls have broadly emphasized racial justice and closing the wealth gap in their policy platforms.

But in recent weeks, some candidates have started embracing specific goals and overtly race-conscious legislation that even the most left-wing elected officials stayed away from in recent years.

Last week, Senator Kamala Harris of California agreed with a radio host's recent suggestion that government reparations for black Americans were necessary to address the legacies of slavery and discrimination. Ms. Harris later affirmed that support in a statement to The Times.

"We have to be honest that people in this country do not start from the same place or have access to the same opportunities," she said. "I'm serious about taking an approach that would change policies and structures and make real investments in black communities."

Ms. Warren also said she supported reparations for black Americans impacted by slavery -- a policy that experts say could cost several trillion dollars, and one that Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and many top Democrats have not supported.

Isn't that something.

Coming Next: The NeverTrumpers and cucks propose a "moderate, incrementalist, market-based plan for reparations."

Alysin Camarota: Our Bosses, Who Tell Us Dummy Puppets What To Say, Told Us to Tap the Brakes on Hyping the Smollet Story

—Ace of Spades

Oh really? Why did CNN not report any of that skepticism on-air?

Over at CNN, anchor Alisyn Camerota says the bosses at her network were skeptical of Smollett's story from the start, noting that she was "surprised" to see how many people enthusiastically believed him.

"I remember in the hours right after this happened that CNN, that our bosses were advising to pump the brakes a little bit because there were things already that didn't add up," Camerota told Brian Stelter, according to The Blaze. "I was frankly surprised how many people jumped on board to side with Jussie Smollett before there were photos, before there were police statements, before all that stuff."

Below, video of the media's performance, with a lot of clips of CNN and especially Brooke Baldwin.

Is Brooke Baldwin so much of an Intersectionalist NPC partisan that even when her "bosses" tell her to cool it, she ignores them and presses forward 100% anyway?

Will she be getting reprimanded for her insubordination, or is CNN just going to pretend this away?

SPOILER ALERT: The second one.

FBI's Top Lawyer Thought Hillary Clinton Should Be Prosecuted Over Email Crimes, But Was Talked Out Of It

—Ace of Spades

(480) 432-2883

Well, sure -- I mean, except for the FBI's own top lawyer.

Turns out "A Higher Loyalty" refers to Hillary Clinton.

For most of the past three years, the FBI has tried to portray its top leadership as united behind ex-Director James Comey's decision not to pursue criminal charges against Hillary Clinton for transmitting classified information over her insecure, private email server.

Although in the end that may have been the case, we now are learning that Comey's top lawyer, then-FBI General Counsel James Baker, initially believed Clinton deserved to face criminal charges, but was talked out of it "pretty late in the process."

The revelation is contained in testimony Baker gave to House investigators last year. His testimony has not been publicly released, but I was permitted to review a transcript.

During questioning by Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-Texas), Baker was unequivocal about his early view that Clinton should face criminal charges.

"I have reason to believe that you originally believed it was appropriate to charge Hillary Clinton with regard to violations of law -- various laws, with regard to mishandling of classified information. Is that accurate?" Ratcliffe, a former federal prosecutor, asked Baker.

Baker paused to gain his lawyer's permission to respond, and then answered, "Yes."

He later explained why he came to that conclusion, and how his mind was changed:

"So, I had that belief initially after reviewing, you know, a large binder of her emails that had classified information in them," he said. "And I discussed it internally with a number of different folks, and eventually became persuaded that charging her was not appropriate because we could not establish beyond a reasonable doubt that - -we, the government, could not establish beyond a reasonable doubt that -- she had the intent necessary to violate (the law)."

Ah yes, intent -- something the law does not require to be proven. Something Comey straight-up invented as a Double Secret Probation Element of the Crime only for Hillary Clinton.

The Morning Rant: J.V. Edition

Admiral Painter was correct, but these fools have no idea what they are bringing down upon their heads. I wonder whether these intense but ignorant folks at "Out" know what Mao (or for that matter any totalitarian regime) did with homosexuals in China? The idea that President Trump is in any way antagonistic towards homosexuality is idiotic, easily refuted by facts. Yet they are so rabidly AntiTrump that they willfully ignore reality in service to their masters...the deep state, the Left, and every other lunatic-fringe organization dedicated to totalitarianism. Because that's what the alternative is...

Yeats knew what was happening too:

The darkness drops again but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?
My coreligionists (cultural, not religious) may be even stupider. Any Jew who supports Ilhan Omar is a self-hating fool who is actively subverting the concept of freedom of religion, of speech, of association. A cursory examination of her oft-stated beliefs will yield a chilling reminder that she is the spawn of a vile and despicable political philosophy, and the 21st century version of Nazism. She wants us dead, and no massaging of the facts can hide that.

So a gay rights magazine supports Iran's homophobic theocracy.
And a Jewish magazine supports an explicit anti-Semite.
Because they hate Trump more than they love their own lifelong causes.

Outtrump.jpg

omarforward.jpg

Amazing how politics trumps everything. I guess these fools believe in the perfectibility of Man, and believe that the explicit goals of the Iranian regime and the Jew-haters that Ilhan Omar embraces really aren't serious, and it's just rhetoric. Once they take power everything will be fine; they will moderate their behavior and everyone will live in peace and harmony because ORANGEMANBAD!

The Morning Report - 2/21/19

—J.J. Sefton

jurei.jpg

Good morning kids. Thursday is here so let's get to it. First up, now that he's been finally asked to turn turned himself in to face criminal charges, it's official: Jussie Smollett perpetrated an insidious, sick hoax in order to boost his flagging career. The way in which he did it is worse than the hoax itself, IMHO: to attempt to throw dynamite on a bonfire of the Democrat-Left-Media complex's own making, which is the disgusting blood libel of America as an unjust, racist nation with its illegitimately-elected President hoping to restore and revive the injustice and racism that undergirded its illegitimate founding. Interesting to note that it seems as if the Chicago Police had to almost be dragged kicking and screaming to look into this because of the nature of Chicago ethnic-driven politics combined with the fear of the city turning into the next Ferguson, MO.

The whole thing was so patently fraudulent and ineptly executed, to the extent that the closed circuit security camera that Smollett thought would capture the incident was pointed in the wrong direction. And that there is a massive bullet that was dodged. Even with the confirmation of this as a hoax, that video would no doubt have joined the pantheon of racialist fraud memes alongside "Hands-Up-Don't-Shoot!," "I Can't Breathe!" and the innocent-as-the-day-he-was-born graduation photo of Trayvon Martin (not the one of him flashing Flava-Flav dentures and gang hand signs).

But where is everyone in the Media, the show business self-proclaimed elite and the Democrat politicians - most notably the likes of Cory Booker and Kamala-Toe Harris - who took to the microphones and cameras within seconds of this story initially breaking to denounce Trump, whitey, heterosexuals and America for this heinous act? It's so silent, the friggin' crickets are starting to stare at each other. But that was a rhetorical question. The aforementioned are fully vested in perpetrating and perpetuating the blood-libeling of America as founded because that is how they will ultimately bamboozle enough people - as well as import them by the millions from south of the border and elsewhere - into destroying it and seizing absolute power once and for all. Several good essays on this as well as at the tail end of the politics section capped off by the always eloquent Victor Davis Hanson.

But, never fear. Just as all of the aforementioned explodes in their faces, the media no doubt is going to seize upon this next item as proof positive that Trump's America is dangerous and evil. A Coast Guard officer (not sure if he's active or ex) was arrested in Maryland yesterday with a cache of weapons as well as a hit list of politicians and journalists. Supposedly, he was inspired by the Norwegian mass shooter Anders Brevik and wanted to take out millions of people. Unless his bullets were nuclear-tipped, I don't know how he was going to do that. In any case, after all the Nidal Hassan's, Omar Mateen's, bike-locks-to-the-head, and Dick-Durbin-linked James Hodgkinson's that have been either ignored, explained away as lone wolves or excused owing to Trump and or the usual Leftist Emanuel Goldstein trope a la mode, this for me is a local crime story with no real significance whatsoever. Hell, not that I am advocating or agreeing with this individual, but considering the constant hate-filled rhetoric pumped out 24/7 by the Democrat-Left-Media complex, they alone are responsible for this guy almost doing the unthinkable. Enough pixels. By your standards, you created this guy, Lefties.

Immigration: GOP Congressmen are urging the administration to designate the Mexican drug cartels as terrorist organizations.

Democrat-Sanctioned Anti-Semitism: Another Democrat Joo-hater joins the House by winning a Virginia special election and Rancida T-Labia's website has icky Joo-cooties.

Democrat Scandals: Donkey Chompers Ocasio-Cortez broke campaign laws by giving a job to her red-headed stepchild of a boyfriend, and Bernie Sanders hates the Saudis so much his media firm lobbies for them. Meanwhile the Koch Brothers Whores are spending bucks to sabotage the Trump economic agenda, Fauxca-Has-Been threatens all sorts of national emergencies to seize power while pimping the usual free-shit garbage as a means to nationalize your children, Donkey Chompers gets slapped hard by a billboard in Times Square, Sherrod Brown-Note is a hypocrite, Alabama Rep Bradly Byrne to challenge Doug Jones for the Senate seat, and the GOP candidate for mayor of Philly has been on disability for 8 years due to mental illness. That still makes her light years better than any Democrat, so I endorse her wholeheartedly.

Abortion: You thought New York and Virginia were bad, get a load of the proposed Vermont law.

First Amendment, Fake News Fakery: Sharyl Atkisson on fighting the corrupt DoJ, Trump slams the NY Slimes, NPR runs cover for traitor Andrew McCabe, Disney and Nestle pull ads from YouTube after pedophilia channel exposed and can Nick Sandmann restore the first amendment?

Mueller Inquisiton: Andrew McCabe deserves Leavenworth, then a long drop at the end of a short rope.

Foreign Desk: Another Venezuelan military official backs Guaido, Putin is a borscht-belch blowhard (the hypersonic missiles are mostly hype, minimally sonic), Dondi Rubio warns about the Chi-Com threat as Chi-Coms buddy up with the Farsis to preserve their nukes, the Space Force to counter the anti-satellite threat, and Michael Ledeen on a Jewish renaissance in Italy.

Domestic News: Saboteurs in the administration are hoping Trump loses in '20 to preserve the Iran nuke deal (weed them out and throw them in prison).

Economic News: Several pieces focusing on New York, including De Bolsheviks war on Air-BnB (considering the latter's Joo-hate, I have little sympathy), Democrats look to bamboozle voters with the old withholding tax as evidence that the tax cut is harmful lie, lots of blame to go around for Amazon pulling out of NY and a trillion here, a trillion there, sooner or later you're talking about real money... and real societal collapse.

Crime: Story about the dark web and massive identity theft.

Healthcare: Maybe that crackdown on opioids wasn't such a great idea after all.

Education: Marxist-inspired teacher strikes are busting out all over, Cornell hates Joos again, look at the insanity you are paying for, how academia helped hatch the Green Nude Eel, and yes we need K-12 reform.

Real Science: 1,000 researchers are rejecting the Darwinian model of evolution.

Feminazism, Homosexualization, Transgender Psychosis: Trump championing international gay rights is evidence of his homophobia and hatred of homos, only Progressives can tell a dame to get her ass back in the kitchen and get me a sammich and some transexual freak extorts money from the courts and can use the mens room in jails.

Lastly, a look at the life and legacy of Pat Cadell, who passed away last Saturday at 68. RIP.

NOTE: The opinions expressed in some links may or may not reflect my own. I include them because of their relevance to the discussion of a particular issue. Anyway, links from around the world, across the nation and up your street. Have a better one and remain blessed.

They released a video in 2016 in keeping with their aesthetic of doing an exciting one-take live performance: This one in one of of those Vomit Comet type zero g simulating planes. They claim this is all real. I kind of believe them because they don't fake things but can you really do that much in one take? I suspect they might have recorded their performance at a sped-up pace and then slowed it down in replay in order to extend the zero-g sections.
Wait: I think my reasons for being suspicious are ill-founded. Hollywood can only do these in short 3-second takes because they're usually trying to pretend the temporary zero-g of the Vomit Comet is the permanent micgrogravity of space, and there's only zero g when the plane hits the top of a climb. Then normal gravity returns, and Hollywood can't use that footage as it would give away the trick that they're not in a space capsule but just in a fast moving plane. But the OK GO guys aren't trying to pretend this is anything other than a plane going into very steep climbs and then into brief periods where upward acceleration equals downward acceleration, so they can use all of the footage, including the parts where gravity is plainly back in operation. They just do their zero-g stunts when the plane gets back to the top of a climb, then stand normally when the plane isn't in temporary weightlessness.
Boy do these guys like single-take concepts
